Getting things done

Yesterday I had a nice long chat with my old friend Lode Broekman, working as a CRM guru for Paul Postma Marketing Consultancy. Lode is running the excellent blinkz blog on marketing topics (mainly in Dutch). It is interesting, it seems like really a lot of people adopted the Getting Things Done (GTD) methodology we wrote about earlier, as their primary time management based way of working. Lode pointed me via his blog to some nice links, so let's have a look:- The Hipster PDA: back to good old paper work. Mmm, for now I have a tremendously preference for my good old Treo...
- GTDTiddlyWiki: The purpose of GTD Tiddly Wiki is to give users a single repository for their GTD lists and support materials so they can create/edit lists, and then print directly to 3x5 cards for use with the HipsterPDA. Although I like the idea of GTDTiddlyWiki, I don't like the fact that Firefox comes up with all kind of security alerts, so let's have a look at the other links Lode gave me.
- Nextaction: This is as well a web based implementation for Getting Things Done. The layout is cleaner than the GTDTiddlyWiki, what I like, and no error messages so far. However, it still looks so damn complex and it looks like I have too much on hand... You might as well wanna read the more extensive discussion on Nextaction (and other Getting Things Done tools) on the popular 43folders blog.
- Backpackit - TaDalist and Basecamp: Slightly different in scope, but very popular are these tools from the inspiring 37signals company. We used Basecamp for several of our previous projects and this is really an excellent environment for managing group tasks and sharing information.
